Preview:

Both teams are coming off impressive wins last night. Carolina impressively handled the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-1 while the Caps defeated the Atlanta Thrashers 3-1. Olie Kolzig will start the game in goal for the Caps. Brent Johnson was solid in the net last night for the Caps. The Caps will have to keep up the impressive puck possession show they put on last night as the Hurricanes have several players that have been absolute Cap killers the last two seasons. Rod Brind’Amour 19 pts in 16 games, Erik Cole 17 pts in 11 games, Justin Williams 17 pts in 16 games, Eric Staal 17 pts in 16 games, and Ray Whitney 15 pts in 14 games. The Caps will debut their new red uniforms and want all their fans to wear red to the game. It should be an exciting game with the Caps pulling out a 4 to 3 victory in overtime.
