Game #22 Recap - Capitals 5 Thrashers 3

Alex Ovechkin led the Caps with his sixth career hat trick to a 5-3 win over the Atlanta Thrashers. The injury depleted team got just what it needed with a high energy performance and a return to the win column. Even with half the defense called up from the AHL the team held Atlanta to 18 shots on goal. The Caps offense was very effective on the forecheck and the passing was very accurate. Michael Nylander, Tomas Fleischmann, and Eric Fehr scored on a gorgeous 3-on-1 passing play. It was a good overall effort from the team and just what the doctor ordered.
