Preview:
The Caps are head to Carolina with a 3-game win streak. Tonight’s match up will be their 5th game in 8 nights and the second with Carolina in 6 days. Carolina was quite upset about the outcome of the last game. As you remember Alexander Semin scored to 2 goals in three minutes to beat the Canes at Verizon Center. Look for this match up to be very physical as the Canes try to take revenge for the injustice of being beaten. The Caps need another strong start like they had against Tampa. The Caps took a 3-0 lead in the first period but they need to finish off much better as they seemed to take the foot off the gas pedal for the second and half of the third period. That kind of inconsistency is driving Head Coach Bruce Boudreau batty. Watch for Alex Ovechkin in this one as he scored his first goal in 10 games in the third period against Tampa and is primed for a break out. I’d hate to be a Carolina goalie tonight.

Joe’s prediction: Caps 5 CAR 1
