The Capitals lost to the Flyers 2-1 last night. Unfortunately, The NHL has absolutely no stats on the game. I heard most of the first two periods but missed the third. My 2 year old decided she didn't want to go to bed. The Caps were a bit unlucky in the second with Matt Bradley hitting the cross bar and two other shots hitting the post. The Caps Brian Sutherby was credited his first goal of the preseason. He redirected Steve Eminger's point shot and caught Flyers goalie Martin Biron out of position. For the first time this preseason, the Caps did not score the opening goal. Former Capital, Boyd Kane scored the only Flyers goal in the first period. Ben Eager scored the game winning goal late in the second. The two teams rematch at Verizon Center tomorrow and you can expect a much different lineup for the Capitals. Almost all the Capitals' big guns did not play in this game, including Alex Ovechkin, Chris Clark, Michal Nylander, Viktor Kozlov, Tom Poti, Brian Pothier, Matt Pettinger, and Alexander Semin.
You can get a little more info on the game from Mike Vogel at Dump and Chase
