Game #32 Recap: Caps 0 Rangers 7

An overall dud for the Capitals in New York as the team falls for the 6th straight time. In a 7-0 loss the Caps had nothing going for them. Semyom Varlamov stopped only 13 of 20 shots while Washington shooters were 0 for 31 with 4 hit posts or crossbars. In an effort to fire up the team, Alex Ovechkin fought Brandon Dubinsky in the second period only to see his team give up 3 more goals. The 6-game losing streak in the worst stretch of games for Washington under Head Coach Bruce Brodreau. The team needs to pick up the pieces and get back to work as they face another tough test against Anaheim.

Of Note:
  • Nothing good for the Caps, 0 for 4 on the power play, 0 for 31 in shots, and team combined -29 rating.
  • Tom Poti played career game #800, hopefully 801 will be better.
  • Matt Hendrick led the Caps with 14 minutes in penalties including 2 fights.
  • Eric Fehr was the only Capital to not have a minus rating on the night.
