Preview:
The Capitals take on the Carolina Hurricanes in Raleigh in a huge battle for control of the Southeast Division. Carolina currently sits in first place but the Capitals have three games in hand and trail the Canes by 4 points. A must win for the Caps who need to put a run on if the plan to play past April 5th. The Caps have been playing the competition incredibly close with 12 of their last 16 games being decided by a single goal. Look for Alex Ovechkin to come out strong against the Canes as he has been held off the scoreboard for three consecutive games, the only time this has happen this season. Alexander Semin is riding a three game goal scoring streak and has scored 18 points in 16 games vs. the Canes. Look for the Caps to be physical against the Canes and put a lot of shots on the goal early. I expect this game to be very close with a bit of the rough stuff as well. Caps will pull this one out late hopefully before overtime.
Joe’s prediction: Caps 3 CAR 2
