Preview:
An injury depleted New Jersey team comes to the Verizon Center for the beginning of a home-and-home series with the Caps. For the Caps this will be their 6th game in 11 days and have been shuffling the line up due to injuries as well. Jose Theodore will get the start in net as Brent Johnson had to leave the Carolina game with a hip injury. Sergei Fedorov is not expected to play and Shaone Morrisonn is a game time decision. The Devils are without their longtime goalie and Cap’s nemesis Martin Brodeur. The Caps first line was firing on all cylinders last game but look for Viktor Kozlov in this one. He had 4 shots on goal in Carolina but was a bit unlucky. I think he’ll get his 500th career point tonight. Watch for the Caps to try and take advantage early as the Devils will try to keep the Caps bottled up as much as possible. If this turns into a skating affair the Devils are dead.
